Staying immersive from a designer/creator point of view means you never stop learning. Never. But sometimes amidst the seriousness of exploration it’s fun to just make something quick and low fidelity; purely for the joy of it 😃 loving the scene understanding for additional immersion on the quest 3.
I set out today to make a quick mixed reality game. A simple fire and shoot at targets. I thought about it last night and quickly sketched out the idea, the messaging and the flow.
There was only one requisite: it had to be a game that’s played against a wall.
I’m happy with the outcome and achieved what I set out to do, it’s low fidelity yes but it was a personal challenge that utilises my skillset and helped me refresh and relook at how some things are done and to also learn a couple of new things. Meet Target Shoot.
Flow:
I started by creating this flow which gave me a workable structure to quickly bat through things and as a reference point to keep me in track.
3D & Animation:
I wanted this to be quick so all the animations are quick and done 3D from the type to the target destruction and the gun.
UI:
Über simple and created within illustrator to give me the sense of having an actual UI and to get the message across.
